Canada won by 5 wickets

Canada won by 5 wickets against Kenya in their World Cup match on Monday.

In the run of chasing 198 runs, Canada got their victory playing 45.3 overs at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
With 70 runs in 121 balls, Jimmy Hansra was the highest scorer for Canada and, Ashish Bagai was unbeaten scoring the second highest of 64 runs playing 150 balls.

The other scorers were John Davidson 4 (4), Tyson Gordon 3 (12), Zubin Surkari 10 (26), Rizwan Cheema 17 (13) and Ruvindu Gunasekera 18 (27).
Nehemiah Odhiambo picked up two wickets for Kenya while Elijah Otieno and James Ngoche took one wicket each.
Earlier, Kenya were bowled out 198 after 50 overs, staging a modest target of 199.
Kenya, in deep water at one stage on 57/5, were picked up by pair fifties of Tanmay Mishra (51) and Thomas Odoyo (51).
Odoyo was dismissed in the very last ball of their innings bowled off Harvir Baidwan. Odoyo brought up his fifty off 60 deliveries striking five boundaries and a six.

The crucial wicket of the other half centurion Tanmay Mishra (51) was picked up by John Davison as he charged down the track for a leading edge to Zubin Surkari at mid off.
Mishra brought up his vital maiden World Cup fifty off 71 balls with the help of three boundaries, in a very good time for Kenya.
Kenya skipper Jimmy Kamande (22) was caught behind off a short ball from Balaji Rao.
Rizwan Cheema got rid of Steve Tikolo (12) trapping him leg before off a delivery that nipped an inside edge onto the pads. Review was taken, but the umpire's decision of dismissal stood.


Collins Obuya (31)was dismissed off Harvir Baidwan as he tried launching a length delivery over midwicket only to see his wickets crashed.
Henry Osinde took out David Obuya for 2, along with the two openers. David edged a moving away ball from right in the hands of the wicketkeeper captain Ashish Bagai.
Opener Seren (2) Waters was bowled by Osinde, getting an angling full delivery to zip through bat and pad, and finally hitting the back pad on to the offstump which was ripped out.
The other opener Maurice Ouma (0) was dismissed off Osinde too as he tried to reach for a ball which sharply moved away from offstump and nipped it to second slip in the hands of Harvir Baidwan.
Osinde constructed the damaging initial overs for Kenya. He ended up with 4 wickets for 26 runs.
Baidwan and Cheema picked up two wickets each, while Balaji and Davison each took one.
Jimmy Kamande, the Kenyan skipper, won the toss and chose to bat.

Canada beat Kenya by 5 Wickets: Canada won his first world cup match against kenya, Canada beat kenya by 5 wickets. Kenya set target 199 runs then Candaian chase score with in five wickets. Captain Ashish Bagai and Jimmy Hansra hit half-centuries as Canada beat Kenya by 5 wickets in their World Cup clash at the Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi on Monday.

Canada chased down the 199-run victory target in 45.3 overs. Bagai and Hansra added 132 runs for the fourth wicket and they came together at the crease when were struggling at 48/3 in 11 overs. Kenya got the third breakthrough when Ruvindu Gunasekera (18) was stumped by Maurice Ouma off James Ngoche. Kenyan captain Jimmy Kamande ran out Zubin Surkari by a direct hit as Canada lost their second wicket with 37 runs on the board. Rizwan Cheema hit a six and two fours in his 13-ball 17 before he was clean bowled by Elijah Otieno as the Canadian run chase got off to a bad start.
